82nd Annual Meeting of the Northeast Section of the American Society of Plant Biologists

Saturday April 28 - Sunday April 29, 2018

The 82nd Annual Meeting of the Northeast Section of the American Society of Plant Biologists will be held at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, on Saturday April 28 and Sunday April 29, 2018.


Theme of the 82nd annual symposium is "Translational Research for Improving Crop Productivity".Registered participants will attend the Saturday afternoon symposium and a scientific poster session followed by dinner and entertainment. On Sunday morning, the conference will conclude with two platform sessions of scientific talks, a business meeting, and best poster and speaker awards. We encourage participation of young researchers (students, postdoctoral research associates and early career investigators). The organizing committee will select oral presentations from the submitted abstracts. Cash prizes will be awarded for the best “Oral Abstract Presentations” and the best “Poster Abstract Presentations”. All abstracts submitted on or before April 10, 2018 will be considered for a talk. Abstracts submitted on or before April 20, 2018 will be accepted for poster presentations and will be included in the program book.

Abstract Deadlines:

April 10 – deadline to have your abstract considered for a talk

April 20 – deadline to be accepted for a poster and be in the program book

Abstract Preparation Guidelines:

The abstract should be in clear and concise English.

Title of abstract: Please use upper and lower case and capitalize each word, except for words such as "the, as, of, with, a, in, and, from, by, etc." Then type in the author's name(s), department and institution(s) affiliation, city, and country. Avoid degrees and titles.

Maximum limit for body of the abstract (excluding the title, authors' names, department and institute affiliations): 300 words. Do not include any graphics or tables in the abstract. Select a topic category. If you wish your abstract to be considered for an oral presentation, please indicate it on the online form. Indicate presenting author with an asterisk.



Poster Session: poster size limit: optimal is 4ft W x 3ft H

Travel Awards available: Undergraduate and Graduate student and postdocs giving a poster or oral presentation can apply for a travel award to help defray costs of registration, travel or lodging (for those not supported by their institutions).  Indicate your desire for a travel grant on your abstract submission form.
